For our spring semester, we hosted a fun filled event promoting our philanthropy known as King of Hearts! King of Hearts is a male pageant that raises money for the Alpha Phi Foundation in support of women's heart health and research. On February 24th, we hosted King of Hearts in the Gleason Auditorium at Florida Tech. Our two lovely hosts of the night were Hilarie MacLeod and Ashley Letendre. During the event, participants performed in categories like Q&A, Beach Wear Competition, Talent Portion, and a Cardiac Catwalk. We were incredibly fortunate to have 12 wonderful contestants participate! These contestants were: Ali Abbas, Daniel Ata, Matthew Bomberger, Diego D'Ignazi, Edward Hillen, Syed Ismail, Roberto Martinez, Will Maynard, Evan Nassaney, Warren Prittore, Taylor Sey, and Arnold Yanga. Each of these contestants put their hearts all in for this pageant. One of the crowd favorites during the pageant was the cardiac catwalk, where the contestants would strut on stage to a song of their choice while wearing an outfit related to women’s heart health. The creativity and enthusiasm from all of the contestants was fantastic, from reading poem’s to dancing to a SpongeBob song, there was not a dull moment during King of Hearts. After the last event of the night was over, over lovely judges from Phi Sigma Sigma and Res Life collected their votes to choose the top 3 contestants from King of Hearts. While the crowd patiently awaited the announcement of the winners, a video was shown describing what our philanthropy truly means to Alpha Phi. After the video, we showed off all our contestants alongside their coaches from Alpha Phi! Our 3rd Place winner was Mr. Asian Persuasion, Arnold Yanga, our 2nd place winner was Mr. Sey My Name, Taylor Sey. Our 1st place 2017 King of Hearts Winner was Mr. President, Warren Prittore. These fantastic men did a wonderful job at performing and we couldn’t be prouder of them! This event was fabulously run by the VP of Marketing and Advertising, Erin Filoramo, and the Director of Philanthropy, Nicole McCusker. Overall, we raised over 2,800 dollars toward our philanthropy and had such a fun time doing so.

For our final chapter meeting of the year, we had a Christmas party to celebrate 2016. We shared hot chocolate and played fun games and had a gift exchange. We also received adorable little care packages from our Alumnae in Tampa. It was a great way to end an amazing semester with our sisters. We hope everyone has a wonderful break and holiday season.
Women's heart health is very near and dear to our us in Alpha Phi. We hosted our annual Red Dress Gala to raise money for the Alpha Phi Foundation which supports women's heart health and research. This year we had a casino night which helped us raise about $2,800. It was such a success for our chapter. Thank you everyone who contributed to help make this possible.
The most exciting thing about coming to school in the Fall is not just seeing our sisters but welcoming our amazing new sisters too. This fall we welcomed 11 new members and we could not be more happy to call them our sisters. Bid day is the first day we all get to connect and be together after recruitment! Welcome home new members!
Alpha Phi wins Greek Goddess!2016 was quite the year for Greek Week. We have many things to celebrate, but winning Greek Goddess was by far our biggest accomplishment. We had overwhelming support from our alumnae, friends, and family. This year we were able to donate (approx.) $2200 to the American Red Cross! Seeing the difference that we can make as a group motivates us to be the best that we can be, and we could not be prouder!
We have been so luck to have these five outstanding women as a part of our chapter. We wish you all the best and hope that you will stay in contact with us in the future.
From Greek Week to philanthropies, initiations and more, the Alpha Phi's have been hard at work! Here are just some highlights from the past month and a half. Sisters attended the Southeastern Panhellenic Conference in March.
On April 5th, 2014, we initiated Lola Barbour and Gracie Fujinami into our chapter. We couldn't be more excited to welcome these lovely two ladies into our family. They are pledge class Beta Gamma.
