Every year, the Theta Zeta Chapter of Alpha Phi holds two philanthropy events catered toward Women’s Heart Health. This semester, we hosted our second annual Red Dress Casino Night on September 23rd from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Hartley Room at Florida Tech. The event was filled with food, a CPR Booth, a photo booth, poker and of course, prizes. All of our prizes were donated from individuals or local vendors around Melbourne. They ranged from Jay-Z concert tickets to a Couple’s Night basket filled with gift certificates. The directors of Red Dress were Caleigh Covell and Buse Dayioglu. Both of these sisters worked alongside the Vice President of Marketing, Erin Filoramo. With the coordination of these three ladies and the efforts of our chapter, this year’s Red Dress Casino Night was better than ever expected. The people who came out to Red Dress were incredibly supportive. The guests ranged from town locals, family, friends, fellow students, members of Greek Life, and alumnae from Alpha Phi. Last year, the sisters raised around $2,800 for the Alpha Phi Foundation in support of Women’s Heart Health. However, this year, the sisters raised $3,200 dollars thanks to the over 160 guests who attended and our community. Finally, Alpha Phi would like to give a special thanks to Res Life who let us use all of their supplies for this event, allowing it to be such a success. Make sure to check out their Casino Night in the spring!
