Hi, I’m Hilarie MacLeod and I am the current Chapter President of the Theta Zeta Chapter of Alpha Phi at Florida Tech. Coming to college, I knew I wanted to join a sorority, and when I received my bid in the Fall of 2016, I could not have been happier. Alpha Phi has given me a home away from home, sisters that I can rely on no matter what, and one of the best support systems I have ever had.
Our chapter at Florida Tech consists of 31 active sisters and together we strive to uphold Alpha Phi’s values of Sisterhood, Scholarship, Service, Loyalty, Leadership and Character Development. Our sisters are there for each other, through the good times and the bad. From getting a big sister, giving back to the community, going to spring formal, to graduation and beyond, sisters are with you to form unforgettable memories.
Together we excel academically and hold the highest GPA of all undergraduate women, as well as all of Greek Life, at Florida Tech. Our Philanthropy is the Alpha Phi Foundation, which supports and funds research for women’s heart health. Heart disease is the number one killer of women, and resonates close to our sisters. By hosting events like our Red Dress Gala, together we raise money for research and financial support for those affected by heart disease. Our public motto, “Union Hand in Hand,” reminds us that we can accomplish anything when we work together, and each sister’s true contribution to our chapters overall success.
The best memories I have made during my time at Florida Tech have been thanks to Alpha Phi, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything. The skills and real life experiences gained have given me a strong foundation for life after graduation. I encourage you to explore the rest of our social media to learn more about our chapter and what we have to offer. College truly passes by before you know it, but the memories and relationships formed within our sisterhood last a lifetime.
